There are no special tricks to meditating; no special posture or breathing rhythm is required. Once you have gotten the knack of it you can meditate anywhere during any activity. Some readers have succeeded in reaching this altered state of conscious while reading about my sand meditation, perhaps you too may realize this transformational state of consciousness as you read on…

Sometimes meditation opens a door into the mysteries of creation. If we allow ourselves to pass through this door there is no telling what we may encounter on the other side. Do not become discouraged if you have tried to meditate in the past and not gotten any remarkable results. Meditation is a mystical process and it may take awhile to learn how to quiet your mind and open yourself to all the present moment has to offer you.

My meditation began while sitting on a beach. My hands were sandy. I rubbed my thumb and forefinger together feeling the grains of sand between them slipping away until only a single grain of sand remained. I could feel the shape of the grain of sand distinctly as I rolled it back and forth between my thumb and forefinger.

The longer I rolled the grain of sand about the more defined my awareness of the grain of sand became. The more detailed my experience of the grain of sand became the larger it appeared to be.

While I could clearly feel the tiny grain of sand trapped between my thumb and finger roll about across the grooves and ridges of my fingerprints the grain of sand appeared to be growing larger and larger as I contemplated it.

The grain of sand continued to grow, encompassing the beach and then the world. Before long the grain of sand had grown to an infinite size and it now encompassed all of creation; yet I still held the tiny grain of sand between my thumb and forefinger, rolling it about across the grooves and ridges of my fingerprints.

The tiny grain of sand was intimately connected to every part of creation and all of creation existed within it, even as it existed within my grasp. I communed with the grain of sand, aware of its infinite connectedness to everything else; through the medium of the grain of sand I became aware of my own infinite connectedness with all of creation.

The sand spoke to me of eternity. It told me tales about creation and the infinite nature of our existence in creation. From the grain of sand I learned that every tiniest part of creation is a living being experiencing creation and sharing in the process whereby creation makes everything manifest.

My meditation with a grain of sand always produced a feeling of intense bliss. It was an eternal meditation that transcended the time and place where it began to continue throughout all of creation. From time to time I would return to this meditation, engrossed by the wisdom and experience of a single tiny grain of sand.

After a full hectic day scheduled with meeting deadlines, documents preparation and attending meetings etc, you will have a strong desire of being relaxed. Numerous ways are now available to relax yourself. The most effective and easy of these ways is meditation.

How will a person do it? Possibly he has already listened to other people discussing about meditation processes. In contrast to your thinking that it is hard and difficult to perform meditation; it is quite an easy job. The idea of meditation revolves around the bringing of your thoughts at a focal point (any relaxing item) over a persistent time period. Your mind will become able to rest in this way and your stressful thoughts will definitely be diverted somewhere else. Your body and brain will surely build up their strength and become relaxed through meditation. The contaminant build ups of your body will also be cleared away.

You will become aware of that during meditation your breathing slows down and blood pressure is also reduced. Moreover, it also brings following results and keeps you more focused in daily routine.

- Muscles relaxation
- Reduction in nervousness and irritability
- Eradication of nerve-racking thoughts
- Elimination of lactic acid
- Clearance of way of thinking
- Decrease in headaches and anxiety

Focusing on one thing is the real essence of all meditation activities. It is the most active procedure contrasting that of hypnosis. All mental faculties of a person must concentrate on the subject of meditation. Approximately 30 minutes are required to accomplish any of the meditation’s activity and you will surely be in comfortable situation. Choose the meditation posture according to your comfort.

Breathing, sound, imagery or any object can be your point of meditation. The most important thing of consideration in any meditation activity is focusing. Distractions may result due to external thoughts and you have to struggle hard to get rid of them. This problem is mostly observed in beginners experiencing difficulty in composing their wandering thoughts. Only practice can make you perfect in practicing meditation and you will feel improvement soon.

Some of the most commonly used Meditation Exercises for relaxation and to get rid of stress.

1. Tense Relax:

Clench the fists and pull your forearms against your upper arms firmly. Keep all your muscles tight including leg muscles and jaws. Now breathe deeply for at least 5 seconds and then relax your body at once. You will feel the tension releasing sensations.

2. Heaviness/ Warmth:

This can be done by feeling heaviness and warmth in your feet and legs. You can do so by imagining that you are wearing lead boots. In this technique you are required to feel warmth and heaviness spreading in your body.

3. Ideal Relaxation:

In this meditation exercise you have to close your eyes and build up a supreme relaxation spot in you mind. Select a place and furnish it according to your personal style. Now imagine you are going there after wearing comfortable clothes. Create a mellow sense of being at your relaxation place

Meditation is an art that has been around since the dawn of the age of man. This is not a statement to be brushed over. After all, many many things about mankind have changed over time, but the profound art of meditation is something we have clung on to dearly. This is because there is no substitute for meditation. Nothing else, single handedly, bestows the many wonderful blessings that meditation brings… in fact nothing else even comes close. In this article I will outline the top 10 benefits that meditation brings and hopefully it will inspire all to learn and practice this timeless art.

The mind of one who meditates is like the easy, leisurely flow of the Ganges River, as compared to the ordinary mind, which is like Niagara Falls. In other words your mind is at peace, deeply silent and so you are at peace.
Meditation opens up the channels of communication between all levels of your being. What this means is that you have access now to the guidance that is coming directly from your Divine Self.

This link gives rise to the flow of intuition and wisdom.

Meditation strips away the layers of false identity that mask your True Self from shinning through. Once you eliminate these false egos and stop catering to their nonsense you can reside in your True Nature. This brings forth joy and happiness as it allows you to be at ease with life, existence and yourself.
All serious meditators know how much their brain function has been enhanced by meditation.

Now, empirical studies every day are indicating this link. Meditation will undoubtedly increase your awareness and will significantly increase your intelligence.

The parts that are not put on but are natural. This will give you insight into who you really are and what you really love in life. That is the secret of mastering the art of living and discovering your true talents, gifts and purpose. That which you love, you do for its own sake without the need for reward of accolades. Once this is discovered, life can be lived with passion, zeal and independence.

Enlightenment: This is the one ultimate purpose of meditation. To help you discover the True Non-Dual Nature of Reality. To make you realize that your True Self is Divine and One with God.

All serious meditators know how much their brain function has been enhanced by meditation. Now, empirical studies every day are indicating this link. Meditation will undoubtedly increase your awareness and will significantly increase your intelligence.

Take your time and practice meditation today so that you can start feeling better real soon. This is going to be a life changing experience for you if you can make the most out of it and really start being a much more positive person, there is no doubt about that. Now, empirical studies every day are indicating this link. Meditation will undoubtedly increase your awareness and will significantly increase your intelligence.

Good luck and enjoy your meditation practices each day.

It’s only important that you move forward with the project that you have started until that appointed time comes. With the energy you create through meditation by moving forward as if you had the money to start your project, you actually put into motion a start of events that will lead you to your success.

Your actions create an energy that draws in the necessary ingredients of your project you have ventured into. Everything that you need for your venture is,in actuality, already out there, waiting for you.You only need to draw in what is needed. There is really nothing more to all of this other than just you remembering to keep an open mind and find that peace that is buried deep within you.

Adapting to any kind of change in your life can be very stressful. The one thing I have learned when it comes to any kind of change is to keep it on a positive level. To do that I stay calm by meditating and keep it all in perspective. I was talking to a friend how I was very apprehensive about a change I would soon have to make in my life. She told me that almost over twenty years ago she had bought a brand new car and it was parked in an alley next to her house.

She walked out of the house just in time to see and old vw bus scrape the front fender of her car. As she continued to tell me what happened she let me know she was trying to stay calm and knew she had to meditate and get focused on the situation. She went on to tell me that the driver got out of his car, threw his hat on the ground, then hung his head, holding it in his hands. She knew that he obviously didn’t have the money to pay for the damage to her car and he almost started to cry.

My friend still meditating to keep things in perspective walked up to the man and you could tell he was very nervous and expected her to say something like What an idiot,Are you blind,or just something so mean that he would just feel terrible. As she walked up to the man she simply said don’t worry about the scrape and to have a nice day.He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He began to cry tears of happiness and hugged my friend. He then ran to his wife who was in the car wondering what they were going to do and he hugged his wife and introduced her to my friend.

As they were talking my friend told them how she used meditation to keep as calm as possible because she had a temper in the past that caused her a lot of problems. The man and his wife and my friend became the best of friends. Here it is 20 years later and even though the man has now passed away and his wife is in a home for the elderly my friend still visits the woman every week and still talk about the day they had met.

Using meditation will certainly help you think about the situation your in and to not act on impulse, but to handle whatever situation it is you are in you will act responsibly. After my friend and I talked I thought how I could adapt to the change I would have to make by positive thinking and could make a bad situation into something that will have a very special meaning in my life. After our talk I went home and started using meditation to relax myself and now I feel better about myself and my life.

There are many physical benefits to organization, but did you know that organizing your space can also have positive mental and spiritual benefits?

Purging your home and workplace of clutter and unnecessary items can symbolize a deeper process of cleansing and purification. As you toss old, useless clutter and better organize what’s left, you are in effect creating a sensation of lightness and freedom that can benefit you both mentally and spiritually.

On an energetic level, the effects of cleaning and de-cluttering can be even more profound because the process clears stagnation and calls in a flow of fresh, invigorating energy (also called “chi,” “ki,” or “qi” – which means “universal life energy”).

What does this mean for you and your space? More peace, prosperity, harmony and success!

Below you’ll find some quick tips on how to organize for a more serene atmosphere:

1)	First and foremost, clearing away clutter is crucial. Clutter drains your energy, scatters your focus and leaves you feeling overwhelmed and restricted. Take as much time as necessary to remove items that are no longer needed and put away items to be kept. However, don’t toss them carelessly into drawers and closets; be sure to organize and place them neatly where they belong. Clutter is clutter, and you’ll experience the same negative effects even if it’s hidden away.

2)	Once your surroundings are ordered, it’s time to do a physical cleaning job. Grab a vacuum cleaner, mops, buckets, dusting cloths, glass cleaner and any other supplies you’ll need, and clean like you’ve never cleaned before! It’s important to do a thorough job because you are not just cleaning away visible dirt – you are also removing any residue left by stagnant, negative energy. You may not be able to see it, but you can still be affected by it on some level if you don’t remove it completely.

3)	Finally, take a breather and look at your surroundings. Notice that they look better, but also notice the difference in the way the environment feels. Does it feel lighter and calmer? Most people can feel the difference right away.

You’re not done yet, however! Now you’re going to call in some beneficial energy to take the place of what you just cleared out. There are many ways to do this, and none of them are better or more effective than the others. Choose one or more that appeal to you.

One of the most common techniques is to “smudge” the area using a bundle of dried sage leaves. (These can be purchased in herb shops or online.) Light the end of the sage stick and blow out the flame so the leaves smolder and release fragrant smoke. Walk through the rooms of your home and waft the scented smoke into the air. As you do, state aloud that you are removing negative energy and inviting a flow of fresh, beneficial energy to take its place.

Another technique is to simply light scented incense and candles in every room. The scents don’t really matter except that they are pleasing to you, but some popular choices include: lavender, rosemary, lemongrass, sage, sandalwood, myrrh, frankincense and rose.

Finally, you can use meditation and visualization to call in positive energy. Simply sit comfortably and perform deep-breathing exercises to bring yourself into a meditative state. Then imagine brilliant white light infusing every room of your home. Imagine that it fairly hums and crackles with an electrical charge, zapping any negativity that still lingers and replacing it with peace and harmony.

Doing this process just once can create quite an impressive change in the atmosphere of your home, but doing it on a regular basis can be even more effective. Try it once every 3 months for starters, but do it as often as you need to if you sense the atmosphere becoming heavy and sluggish again.

Tantric Chakra Meditation is designed to open you up to the unlimited being you are. You are a river that should be free flowing with the ocean of all bliss, but there are dams in that river that prevent this feeling of oneness even within the river itself. Time to return to a pristine state of opulence. There are nine chakras, yes, the common belief is that there are seven, no wonder we are so fractured. There also used to be nine days of the week as nine is the frequency of the universe. Notice that our bodies have nine major openings to connect with the world. Nine is the perfection, taking the foundation of three and multiplying it by three. It is the triangle squared.

The three centers of the body are the lower, the middle, and the head and each center has three chakras for a total of nine that we need to awaken as to put all things in order and have everything working as a whole.

First is the root chakra at the region of your sit-down. It is recommended to sit on the ground for a good connection with the earth. Concentrate there and think this – “I release fear” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this “I embrace survival” as you bring positive energy back upward and say the mantra “LAM.” And now you think this thought “The earth, root chakra is blooming open. Bold, brave, dharmic destiny to be me. I can, I will, I dare, and I do!” Feel solid.

Next is the chakra at the region of the genitals. Concentrate there and think this – “I release guilt” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this “I embrace pleasure” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “VAM.” And now you think this thought “The water, sex chakra is blooming open in fluid fulfilling ecstasy!” Feel how good it feels.

The fire chakra at belly completes the lower region. Concentrate on the belly and think this – “I release shame” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this “I embrace courageous power” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “RAM.” And now you think this thought “The fire, belly chakra is blooming open. I am live, wild, fusion fire!” Feel invincible.

From the lower region comes the air chakra the same way earth, water, and heat made the atmosphere of the earth. Doing this chakra meditation is following the indomitable way of nature. Concentrate on the solar plexus and think this – “I release tension” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this “I embrace freedom” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “POM.” And now you think this “The air, solar plexus chakra is blooming open. Free from ignorance, fanaticism, and tyranny, I float, flow, and fly.” Feel the lightness.

The center of it all is the heart chakra, so concentrate at the middle beneath your breast bone and think this – “I release grief” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this – “I embrace love” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “YAM.” And now you think this “The spirit, heart chakra is blooming open. It’s all about the love, love is all that matters, only love prevails.” Feel love.

Concentrate on the throat and think this – “I release the falsehood of limitation” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this – “I embrace all pervasive universal truth” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “HAM.” And now you think this “The sound, throat chakra is blooming open. I express love!” Make happy sounds.

The third or upper region of chakras in the head start with the third eye behind and between the two eyebrows. Concentrate there and think this – “I release the illusion of separation” as you let go of it into the ground. Then think this – “I embrace the light of oneness with the wonderful ONE” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “OM.” And now you think this “The third eye sun awareness chakra is blooming open perceiving the integrated beauty of everything!” Feel radiant warmth.

Next is the fourth eye chakra in the center of your forehead. Concentrate there and think this – “I release humility, inhibition, and hesitation” as you let go of them into the ground. Then think this – “I leap to divine manifestation” as you bring the positive energy back upward and say the mantra “AH.” And now you think this “The fourth eye sweet spot eclipsing moonbow kaleidoscope connection bridge chakra is blooming open. I am that I am. I am all!” Love everything. Be everything, for everything. Feel pure energy.

Now we open the ninth chakra at the top of the head. It is called taking it to the nines. This meditation is a practice of internal alchemy and you are about to connect it all together to bring your spiritual development to it’s highest power. Bring your concentration to the top of the head and think this “I release the sticky stagnation of ego and attachment to free and liberate the soul to ultimate union, total absolution” as you let go of everything into the ground and automatically transformed energy comes back up from below, breaking through and letting in energy from above opening your crown chakra to the swirling energy of alcosmic consciousness. Say the mantra “HUM” and think this – “The imagination crown star chakra is blooming open in love absolute!” Enjoy!

Meditation is often visualized as an Eastern tradition where the person sits in a circle surrounded by candles and saying mantras or humming. Currently, meditation and its benefits are recognized and is far from what we had in mind before. Aside from the calming effect that it could bring, meditation are often said to be a path to awaken the spirit and start the journey towards spiritual awakening.

Meditation has different schools. Each school would have its own thought about meditation. There are also different techniques for meditation and it can also be classified based on their focus. There are meditative techniques which focus on a field or a background perception, while there are others which focus on a specific object.

Meditation is used to calm the mind and relax the body. Tension, stress and anxiety can be relieved by performing simple techniques. Aside from the inner peace that meditation brings, it can also improve the body’s total and general health. It is also a great way of improving your concentration. There are studies showing the relation between meditation and other concentration exercises with the performances of athletic and sport professionals.

Health benefits of meditation would include better circulation, deeper level of relaxation, increase in exercise tolerance among heart patients, regularizing blood pressure, reduces anxiety attacks and muscle tension, helps against allergies, arthritis, and shows significant help for those who are recovering from operation or surgery.

With this concentration process, you get to listen to the inner self and separate from the pressures of daily life. Understanding the inner self would lead to understanding of our higher self. This would increase our knowledge and understanding how the higher self unites with the universe. In meditation, you get the chance to tap into your inner self and get in touch on how it sees your life. Getting in touch with the inner self will provide guidance towards our happiness and fulfilment.

There are religions which advocate the use of meditation to reach enlightenment. As mentioned, there are different schools of thoughts and focus that each religion adapts. But the method or the technique used is not as important with the underlying concept that behind meditation.

Meditation is about listening to the inner self, therefore it has something to do with controlling your attention and focusing. There are too much distractions that it is very hard for some to focus their attention into what it is important and keeping the attention on fixed object. When focused on a fixed object or field, one-pointedness could be experienced and could take the person to a completely different state. This one-pointedness is not that easy to achieve though, there are some who would need to meditate for years to achieve it.

When one-pointedness is achieved, the person would experience bliss. Bliss is referred to as a natural state of the soul which cannot be experienced easily in daily lives. During this meditative state, spirituality and also the mind expands its consciousness and understanding of nature and the universe. Destructive thinking and behaviour brought about by the materialistic and fast-paced world can be flushed away by focusing more on the your spirituality.

A deeper understanding and knowledge would be felt and the body would be in one with the universe. This they say would be what would link us to the Supreme Being. Attaining this one-pointedness could somehow be compared to a spiritual awakening, where the body and the mind can fully understand what cannot be seen or touch in the material world.

Music has always been used in meditation because music in general has a very strong effect on our emotions. We listen to music pretty much all the time, depending on our moods. If we are in a melancholic mood, we find the sentimental type of music to listen to. If we are full of energy, there is rock, pop and whatnot.

So no wonder that meditation has meditation has adopted music from the dawn of times.

Just mention to any of your friends meditation, or even think of it yourself, and you will immediately think of a particular kind of music or setting associated with relevant music (chanting, om, monks, churches, temples, etc).

So as there is music for any particular type of moods, there is also music for relaxation, stress relief, and this is the meditation type of music.

Of course, not everybody experiences the same effect when listening to meditation music. For example, some people achieve that peace and calm through sounds of nature. Others will obtain the same effect listening to various musical instruments. However, all these have in common a particular gentle note in the sounds, all very calming in nature.

When listening to meditation music, you feel your mind calm, which means your mind is able to focus much better. You will be able to breath more slowly and properly, and the most important thing in our Western society, it helps reduce the every day stress, particularly when meditation is performed every day, or in our case, we are listening and relaxing to meditation music for about 15-20 minutes every day.

I love all aspects of meditation and I am blogging about it. I also meditate regularly and posting my feedback, or any new techniques that I have tried. Please visit my blog and drop me a line at: http://meditationtypes.com/, I would love to hear from you. http://meditationtypes.com/
