Do you have a tendency to do anything for attention? Letting go of attention seeking behavior can improve your relationships and peace of mind.

Keep in mind that a certain level of attention seeking is natural for people at any age. The issue is whether it’s causing trouble in your daily life and preventing you from finding more productive ways to respond to challenges.

Identifying Your Attention Seeking Behavior:

1.	Look for the external signs. The external signs may be the easiest to spot. Typical characteristics include exaggerated displays of emotions, constantly seeking approval and reassurance, and difficulty dealing with frustration or criticism.

•	You may also have a tendency to take inappropriate risks and focus too much on your physical appearance.

2.	Identify the underlying causes. It can be challenging to get in touch with the feelings that prompt you to seek attention, but it’s critical to making positive changes. Often, this conduct can be linked to a sense of insecurity or neglect.

Dealing with Attention Seeking Behavior:

1.	Address the underlying causes. You may find that you’re feeling insecure in a romantic relationship or getting overwhelmed at work. Once you have a better understanding of what’s really motivating your need for attention, you can figure out where you need to take action.

2.	Develop more positive approaches to pursuing what you need. Instead of sabotaging yourself by attracting negative attention, get to work on constructive solutions. Stop sighing and throwing dishes around. Have a calm conversation with your partner if you think they’re not doing their fair share of the housework.

3.	Monitor your emotions. Try to reflect on your thoughts and emotions before reacting. You can improve your own peace of mind by avoiding excessively negative or positive characterizations of people and situations.

4.	Examine your physical appearance. It’s okay to want to look nice, but avoid making it an obsession. Ask yourself if your shirt is too sexy for the office or if you’re placing too much importance on your outer appearance in general.

5.	Stop exaggerating difficulties. If you’ve fallen into the habit of playing the victim, you can make life more pleasant for yourself and others by being more realistic about your circumstances. Rather than viewing small obstacles as catastrophes, keep things in proportion and remain calm about minor setbacks.

6.	Evaluate risks more carefully. If you find yourself changing jobs too frequently and getting into one volatile relationship after another, you may want to question your need for novelty and excitement. Positive risk taking allows you to learn and grow. Reckless decisions can prevent you from becoming successful and happy.

7.	Learn when to ignore yourself and when to reward yourself. Skillful parents know when to ignore a child who is acting out and when to reward good behavior.

•	Similarly, you can decide not to pay inappropriate attention to your thoughts and emotions when you find yourself getting too theatrical.

•	On the other hand, recognize and reward yourself for discovering better alternatives to your attention-seeking tendencies.

Liberate yourself from needing to be the center of attention. Taking positive steps to change attention-seeking behavior can reduce the friction in your relationships and help you find more constructive approaches to getting what you want out of life.

Affirmations are simple statements we can use to improve our self-esteem, help us reach a goal, break a bad habit, find love, or even discover joy in our lives. Positive affirmations work hand in hand with our subconscious to make lasting changes for the better.

Many times we may already experience joy, but we don’t know celebrate it enough. Sadly, at other times, we aren’t even aware that it’s present. Positive affirmations can help you rediscover that joy, peace, health, and happiness!

Here are some examples of positive affirmations and how they can improve your life:

1.	“I’m worth it!” This positive affirmation tells us that we’re deserving of being happy. If you’re feeling dejected or worthless, this affirmation can work wonders.

•	By using this affirmation on a consistent basis and coupling it with an open heart, you’ll see results. You’ll realize that you’re more than deserving of happiness and joy.

2.	“I go with the flow and my life is easy and filled with happiness.” Are you feeling stuck in rut or completely stressed out? This is an effective positive affirmation that helps you to release all that tension.

•	This affirmation helps you rid your mind of negativity so the joy that’s present can shine through.

3.	“I see the beauty in my surroundings and I radiate love and joy.” This positive affirmation will help you to notice all that’s beautiful in this world. It will also teach you how to spread love and joy to those around you.

•	You can enjoy everything this world has to offer; all you have to do is give yourself permission to celebrate!

4.	“I now choose thoughts that nourish and support me in a loving manner.” This will tell your subconscious that you’re serious and you want to make good, positive changes in your life.

•	This affirmation helps you open your mind to constructive thoughts so you can celebrate all the joys that life has to offer you.

5.	“I can relax and accept the good that I know I deserve in my life.” This is a positive affirmation that will help with your stress and patience.

•	No matter how long it may take, you can be confident that only good things await you.

•	Even though you may be completely stressed out, this affirmation will help you to relax and slow down.

6.	“I take time regularly to do the things that I love to do; I follow my heart and I am happy.” This positive affirmation celebrates someone very important – you! You take the time to make yourself a priority and you’re an active player in your life!

•	To be happy is extremely important and joy will follow you wherever you go when you recite this affirmation frequently.

Joy is essential and our lives should be filled with it. Positive affirmations allow us to refocus our lives to a point where we can be happy again. Practice positive affirmations on a regular basis and celebrate all the joy that this life has to offer!

It seems that these days almost everyone is focused on physical beauty. Someone’s intelligence, personality, or status is all perceived by their outward appearance. So where does inner beauty fit in?

We all have inner beauty, however, whether or not we’re aware of it or utilize it is up to us. Inner beauty is something that’s profoundly more important than physical beauty. It’s something that you must nurture and cherish.

When you develop your inner beauty, your physical beauty seems to miraculously improve as well!

Here are some strategies that can help you discover and develop your inner beauty:

1.	Make an “I Love Me” list. This is a powerful tool to help you discover your inner beauty. Write down all of your good qualities that don’t relate to something physical. Are you sweet? Sincere? Love animals and children? All these attributes and a host of others relate to your inner beauty.

•	The process of writing out your strengths gives you tangible evidence of your great inner qualities that you might not have even been aware of.

2.	Surround yourself with those whose inner qualities you admire. Of course, they may also have physical beauty, but the reason you’re drawn to them is because they’re caring, loving, gentle, or otherwise admirable because of their inner qualities.

•	When you surround yourself with these kinds of people, your own inner beauty tends to shine through also. They may even point out your inner beauty to you. People like this look beyond the outer shell and focus on what’s important inside.

3.	Practice and cultivate your inner beauty. Most of us know how to take care of our physical beauty: we get our nails and hair done, we stay in shape, buy new clothes, and so on.

•	Remember, when you discover and improve your inner beauty, physical beauty follows. Surely you’ve met someone and weren’t attracted to their physical beauty at first glance, but once you got to know them and saw their inner beauty, they began to be more physically attractive as well.

•	What can you do to bring out your inner beauty? It’s simple: Be you! Show beautiful qualities like compassion, love, and patience, and practice them daily.

4.	Avoid negative talk. Gossip and negative comments about others breeds more negativity within you. Instead, focus on the good in people. Rather than saying an off-color comment about someone’s appearance, put a positive spin and focus on a point of his or her inner beauty.

•	This will help you cultivate and develop your own inner beauty, too. Focusing on the positive qualities of others brings out the best in you, too! You’ll also find that you’ll attract people because they enjoy being around you. Attracting loving and caring friends is just icing on the cake!

Final Thoughts on Your Inner Beauty

Your inner beauty is unique to you. Unfortunately though, many of us don’t know how to celebrate and honor it. Unleash your inner beauty to the world! Don’t be afraid of it.

Use these tips to show everyone your inner beauty and you’ll gain an amazing and unshakeable self-confidence!

When we start something new the brain releases a hormone called dopamine. That’s the feel good hormone released when you’re eating chocolate or having sex. It’s a survival hormone. It allowed our primitive ancestors to know what would help keep them alive (e.g. eating food) and the species going (having sex).

So why does starting something new release this feel-good hormone? Because, as Chris Cade explains in his free “Getting Things Changed” mini-course, prehistoric survival was totally dependent on being alert to new things. Namely, prey, predators and berries. Caveman didn’t know how to raise livestock, farm or build cities. They were at the mercy of nature – both its bounty and its threats.

Have you ever seen the TV show Survivorman? After being stranded out in the wild, Les Stroud was usually happy if he hadn’t been attacked by a puma; found clean water; and had eaten at least one small snake and a handful of dandelions – over the course of seven days.

Imagine living like that your entire life?

Our ancestors were always at the whim of performing short-lived experiences like escaping a tiger, finding twelve wild berries or spearing a boar.

In our more sophisticated society, a short attention span is not so compatible with the type of material, psychological and spiritual progress that people like you and I are seeking. The opposite has become true. If you can’t focus and stick to something, you make little progress. Sure you won’t starve to death. Instead you find yourself facing a fate worse than death by wild alligator — you find yourself living a mediocre life.

Unfortunately our ancestors’ short attention span and obsessions with new threats and opportunities seems to be coded into our DNA. It is but one of the reasons we have so much trouble sticking to a personal development program for more than 12 minutes (forget about 12 months). This is why we get bored after learning a few basic greetings in a new language. This is why we give up after spending a week dieting and exercising to lose a pound of weight.

Nonetheless, all of us have experiences where a burning desire, aroused will power or life-and-death necessity has made us commit to certain long-term goals… and achieve them. And we know that the satisfaction of finishing a self improvement course, changing a habit or learning an instrument produces a deep sense of joy and wellbeing (that the fleeting dopamine rush of food and sex can not compete with). Nothing against food and sex, mind you – but life is so much more.

I don’t believe our ancestors were put on this planet to just survive… I believe we were given the gift of evolution so that we could THRIVE.

The other day I introduced you to Chris Cade’s complimentary transformational mini-course called “Getting Things Changed.”

This 7 day email-based course helps you overcome all identify the mental obstacles to doing what needs to be done to achieve your big goals in life. You can get all seven lessons for free by going to:

http://www.chriscade.com/

Each day, for seven days, you get something new. A little dopamine shot to help you along as Chris unravels many of the mysterious subconscious blocks stopping you from achieving your most important goals in life.

Dealing with conflict is hardly ever easy, but there are healthy and productive ways of getting through it. Conflict resolution goes to the heart of your communication skills. This means that it’s something that might come naturally to some people, while others will struggle.

The good news is that you can strengthen your skills in this area. With some effort on your part, you can make your life easier as well as communicate on a deeper level with those around you.

Here are a few strategies you can use to better deal with conflict:

1.	Recognize differing opinions. Conflict generally arises when people fail to recognize or understand a differing opinion in another person.

•	If you’re mediating a conflict between two people, tell them to put themselves in the other person’s shoes.

•	If you’re in the middle of a conflict, take the time to truly listen to what the other person is saying and try to see where they’re coming from in the situation.

2.	Work on communication. How many times have you found yourself dealing with conflict because of a miscommunication issue? Communicating effectively in the first place prevents many conflicts from ever developing.

•	Remember that communication is a two way street, so practice both your verbal and listening skills.

3.	Allow everyone to speak. It’s vital that everyone involved in the conflict has a chance to speak. There will be no true resolution if everyone’s needs are not heard and met. It would turn out to be a band-aid solution and only a matter of time before the conflict reared its ugly head once again.

4.	Stay calm. This is one of the most important keys to expressing yourself in a healthy fashion. When conflicts arise, things can get quickly heated if you don’t make a conscious effort to stay calm. Emotions start flying and you may say something you later regret.

•	If telling yourself to stay calm isn’t effective, take a break and let emotions cool down before you return to any conflict resolution.

5.	Talk about mistakes. Everyone knows that people make mistakes because it’s human nature. However, it also seems to be human nature to fight acceptance of those mistakes. Conflicts often arise from mistakes, so it’s best to be upfront about them.

•	Identify the mistake that led to the conflict.
•	What was the intention behind the mistake? In many cases, the person causing the mistake didn’t intend for it to happen.
•	Work on forgiveness and setting things right again.

6.	Discuss resolution. Every conflict needs a solution. The best resolutions involve a win-win scenario for everyone. However, remember that everyone may not be completely happy with the solution. In this case, ensure that everyone at least accepts the compromise and is at peace with it.

7.	Learn from it. Resolving conflicts can result in some valuable life lessons. Discuss what each of you has learned from this conflict, and then leave it behind to move forward to better things.

Once a conflict has been resolved in a healthy manner, it’s good to identify the steps you took in order to achieve a resolution. Your successful process may help you in the future when you need to manage conflict again.

Do you know what the number one reason is that most people don’t meet their personal goals? Whether someone wants to learn a new language, kick a bad habit, succeed at a business, find their soul mate or stick to a meditation routine — 80% of people will admit that they just haven’t made as much progress as they had expected they would…

And most of them know exactly why.

It’s not because the course they bought is no good or the seminar to they attended was lousy.

It’s not because the economy is bad and the world is a mess.

It’s not because their family isn’t supportive or their spouse lives in another world.

Most people would probably admit that the #1 reason they don’t achieve their most important goals is because they don’t “stick with it.” Once the novelty wears off so does their determination. Or they have so many goals – more than they can possibly achieve – that they’ve created a situation where they can never make any significant and lasting progress on any of them.

No book, teacher, course, program or levitating master can help you if you’re not able to focus and put forth consistent, constructive action.

To help liberate you from lack of follow-through, personal transformation expert Chris Cade has created a complimentary 7-day mini-course called “Getting Things Changed.” It explains the inner and outer obstacles conspiring against your efforts at changing your life for the better.

It’s 100% free. You’ll receive one lesson per day, and these seven lessons could change the course of your entire life.

Just click here and enter your email address. You can unsubscribe anytime. I have known Chris for years and you can trust him 100% to deliver real, actionable content that you’ll be grateful for.

http://www.chriscade.com/

Go on. Give “Getting Things Changed” a try if you want to overcome those sneaky self-sabotaging tricks of the your subconscious mind. Stop your own mind from stopping you from doing what you already know you need to do to destroy your troubles.

When you’re presented with a diagnosis of depression, the first thing you must realize is that there is help. You’ll want to work closely with your doctor to figure out the best treatment for your type of depression and to keep in close contact about side effects you might have with prescribed drugs or treatment procedures.

The appropriate treatment for your depression diagnosis will depend on the results of the evaluation. Some people can work through depression with psychotherapy, but others may require antidepressants, plus psychotherapy. The good thing about antidepressant medications is that they can bring relief quickly and effectively, but remember that medications only masks the symptoms, they don’t cure depression.

Your depression diagnosis might be “chemical,” meaning that something prevents your body from producing the chemicals it needs to ward off normal depression. You may have situational depression, which means that you’re suffering from an incident or thoughts that may have preceded the depression.

Almost everyone needs some kind of relief from the symptoms of depression at some time in their lives. This changing world and all the problems that come with change might cause you to worry and fret about your future. When depression begins to get in the way of living life to the fullest, you should definitely consult your health care provider.

Life’s problems can be overwhelming at times and negative thoughts and attitudes could sneak into your mind no matter what you do to prevent them. When you see your doctor for depression, you’ll be given a complete psychological evaluation and a medical evaluation to establish whether you have a psychological type of depression or whether it might be caused by a medical condition.

Sometimes, health care providers are quick to focus on medicating depression rather than also pursuing the psychological aspects. Before you agree to medication, ask your doctor about referring you to a psychologist to assess whether this type of treatment should be included in your therapy.

A health care provider should talk to you about the history of your symptoms, such as how long you’ve been having them and the severity of them. Symptoms might include sleeping too much, insomnia, loss of appetite or eating too much, if you’ve had thoughts of suicide or anything else that may be troubling enough to interrupt your lifestyle. He or she will also want to know about alcohol or drug use, if any.

The problem with depression might be temporary, or you might need long-term therapy, but whatever the situation, know that help is available.

Many people go through their lives without understanding why they make the same mistakes, follow the same patterns, and live in the same ruts. They aren’t happy with their present situation, but they seem to be unable to make any lasting changes. Are you one of these people?

Perhaps you’ve attend seminars, read books, and taken courses, but, in the end, fallen back into the same dysfunctional patterns you’ve always followed! Why does it always turn out this way?

We struggle to make permanent changes in our lives because we input information only into our conscious mind. Here’s the problem: your conscious mind is not what directs your behaviors and belief system.

To change your behaviors, you must first reprogram the hard-wired center of your mind: the subconscious mind.

How Does Your Subconscious Mind Work?

The subconscious is the largest part of our mind. It contains all the messages we’ve received throughout our lives. It holds millions and millions of thoughts grouped into clusters that form beliefs, mindsets and character traits.

The relationship between the conscious and subconscious minds is like an iceberg. The conscious mind is represented by the visible tip of the iceberg, while the subconscious is represented by the gigantic lower portion of the iceberg hidden from view.

You can’t see the subconscious in action, but it certainly has a major impact on the voyage you take in your life.

The subconscious is the place where all of your learned behaviors reside. Once you learn to walk, you don’t need to consider how to lift and place each foot to take the next step, do you? Of course not! Your subconscious mind automatically controls your steps.

Your subconscious learns behavior through repetition and practice. Just as it learned to control your footsteps when you learned to walk, it also controls your footsteps in your life’s journey based on what you’ve reinforced throughout your life.

The good news is you can reprogram your subconscious mind by inputting and reinforcing new thoughts and actions! There are several different techniques you can use to tap into the subconscious mind and reprogram how it works.

Here are some strategies you can use to change your mind and change your life:

1.	Affirmations. Affirmations work to change your subconscious mind by using positive, personal, present tense statements to override the embedded negative thinking. By repeating these positive thoughts, you can create new pathways in your subconscious, giving it new attitudes.

Then your subconscious causes you to act in new ways that agree with these new attitudes. For example, repeating: “I choose healthy foods at each meal” can change your mindset about what you eat and why!

2.	Visualization. Visualization is the act of creating detailed mental pictures that depict a desired outcome so you can see success for yourself. These images stimulate the subconscious into accepting them as reality, which then directs behavior accordingly. Top athletes around the world use this technique during game-time.

3.	Hypnosis. Some types of therapy work with the subconscious mind, including hypnosis. Hypnosis works by easing you into a state of extreme relaxation. Once you’re in this state, the conscious mind releases its grip, and the subconscious mind is easier to access.

While under hypnosis, it’s much easier to reprogram the subconscious into accepting new thoughts as reality.

4.	Subliminal Audios. You can use subliminal audios while you sleep. The conscious mind listens to music or someone speaking on one level, but the subconscious mind hears another layer of information recorded underneath the audible portion.

When awake, the conscious mind is distracted with the audible portion of the audio, making it harder to tap into the subconscious mind.

Using techniques like these can help you reprogram your subconscious mind and remove the burden of the negative thoughts buried there. Imagine the freedom of living your life without the automatic dysfunctional behaviors you’ve had driving you for years!

When you transform your negative outlook into a positive one, you can accomplish so much more. In doing so, your mind will be released from negative programming, allowing you to excel and succeed throughout your life.

Everybody feels passionate about something. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out exactly what that is, but you have big dreams inside of you that are driven by your deepest values and convictions. Discovering this passion will dramatically increase your sense of joy, happiness, and confidence in every area of your life.

Work

The most popular advice for career success is to find something you love, and then find a way to make money doing it. If you can find a way to support yourself working in a field you enjoy, you’ll get up every morning looking forward to doing something that hardly feels like work.

Sometimes, however, you’re stuck in a position that’s less than ideal. If you explore the values and dreams within yourself and match them to particular aspects of your job, your daily grind can quickly turn into a daily pleasure. By finding deep meaning in what you do, your enthusiasm for work will naturally increase.

Social Life

When you find your passion, you can seek out others who share that passion and revel in it. You can open yourself up to a whole new circle of people and experiences.

When a group of people who share the same passion get together and talk about it, entertaining dialogue always ensues. Whether it’s a vigorous debate or a lengthy rant, it’s always good fuel for your soul.

Discovering the passion inside of you makes you a more interesting person. Even when you’re spending time with people who have totally different interests, you can exchange ideas on a whole new level and enjoy each other’s company more when you have more to share.

Your friends, family, and colleagues may feed off your interest and enthusiasm. Your passion may become contagious, and you may win them over to your cause. With more in common, you’ll experience a deeper relationship and more meaningful fellowship when you share your passion with others.

Recreation

Are you easily bored or anxious? The quickest antidote is to discover what makes you tick.

Your passion is the fuel that ignites the joy you were created to experience. Infusing your passion into your weekly schedule, even in small amounts, can have a dramatic affect on the happiness you feel throughout the rest of the week.

Romance

Knowing what your passion is can give you a barometer for potential romantic partners. If you find someone who shares your passion, or is at least supportive of it, you can develop a relationship where you can share your passion with someone who feels passionate about you.

Get Started Today!

Experience the power of finding your passion today. All it takes is a few minutes of quiet time alone, an open mind, and a determination to live the life of joy that you were born to live.

Grab a piece of paper and a pen, and ask yourself some questions. What causes stir your emotions? What do you enjoy spending time doing? What bothers you about the world around you? How can you make it better? What things make you smile? What recreational activities do you enjoy?

As you explore, you’ll discover the passion that burns deep within your heart. Ask yourself how you can pursue that passion, starting today, even if it’s only on a small scale. Your life will never be the same.

You can learn to let go of the conflict in your life. Everyone has things from their past they aren’t proud of. Perhaps you keep thinking about a situation and wonder how things might have been different. The reality is, wishing things were different isn’t doing you any good! Avoid letting past conflict hold you back.

Instead, release your concerns and focus on the present. Today is what matters and you can use today to make better days ahead. There are many techniques you can use to help you leave the past behind, and it’s good to experiment with different strategies until you find the one that’s right for you.

Release Your Negative Thoughts

Thinking negatively about yourself or past events isn’t productive. Even if you’ve made mistakes, you should see them as learning experiences that brought you to where you are today. They’re teaching moments, where you make a choice and learn from what happens next.

Avoid dwelling on your mistakes. It’s important to take the information you learned and put it to good use. When you find yourself thinking negatively about your past, try a tactic that makes you focus on the present.

Some ways to help you focus on the present include:

•	Exercising to raise your endorphin level
•	Helping someone else by volunteering or getting involved in the community
•	Meditating, praying, or visualizing
•	Using affirmations to realize what positive things you currently have in your life

Conquer Your Conflict

Thoughts have power, so make them work for you, not against you. When you look at your experiences in a positive light, you open the door for more positive energy and experiences to come your way. Maybe something happened that you didn’t like, but what did you learn from it? What good things came from it?

There is always good if you look for it.

Most people forget to look for the good that comes in all experiences, so make it a priority to seek joy in the things you’re doing today. You aren’t required to forget about the past, but you can move away from it. Living in memories is no longer necessary. Live in the present, and look toward the future. It’s much easier to see where you’re going that way!

Make corrections on your journey if you need to, but avoid going backwards. Moving forward, into a bright future and away from conflict, should be your focus. When disconcerting thoughts of the past appear, gently urge them away with thoughts of the future. Avoid letting that negative voice get to you, because it isn’t what’s true and real.

You know what’s really important, even if your thoughts sometimes try to tell you otherwise. By focusing on what matters to you in the here-and-now, and seeing how you can extend that into your fabulous future, it becomes easier to shed the conflict that comes from spending too much time in the past.

It’s not possible to change your past, but it is possible to live for today.

That’s something to remind yourself of each day. Why live with regret and conflict when there’s joy and beauty to be found? Live in the light of peace and joy each day, and focus your energies on what you can do to make things better for yourself and the world around you.

You’ll find that you have more happiness and that you also bring more happiness to others. When you’re looking into the past, it’s hard to see the great things on display in the future. By letting go of your past, you’re able to change your focus and outlook onto much brighter things!
