Meditation is not something to be forced. However, it is wise to try to set aside a regular time each day to meditate. If you can only do it for 5 minutes - great. 15 minutes is better if you can.

After reading through your website, my desire to calm myself led me to try meditation on my own for about 15 minutes. I clasped my hands and focused on my hands after a few deep and forceful breaths. The focus on my hands led me to focus on the space around my hands which then led me to be aware of the silence as I heard a dog barking in the distance. I stayed with the awareness of the silence and the space surrounding me and felt it in me as well. Then I opened my eyes and still felt the peaceful feeling. I hope I can do this more often. Should I force myself even though I may not feel to sit and meditate like I just did? or should I just wait for the next time I desire this feeling again?
